A 20-year-old man died after being gored during a bullfight held this Saturday in the town of El Casar, in Guadalajara, on the occasion of the festivities. He was first sent to the hospital in Guadalajara and then to the University Hospital of La Paz in Madrid.
The El Casar town hall announced on Sunday that it had declared three days of official mourning for the events, saying it “deeply” regretted the “unfortunate accident.”
Thus, as a testimony to the “pain of the people,” Mayor José Luis González announced the three days during which the flags flying in front of municipal buildings will be lowered to half-mast.
In addition, a black crepe will be lit on the flags located inside the municipal offices as a sign of mourning; and all official public events, organized by the El Casar City Hall, will be suspended for the duration of the official mourning.
The Municipal Corporation, on the one hand, expresses its “most sincere condolences and condolences” to the family and friends for the loss of their loved one.
This is the second person to die in a bullfighting accident in the city in less than a month. On August 24, a 51-year-old man died after being injured by a bull’s horn in the bullring of the small entity of Mesones, belonging to the municipality of El Casar (Guadalajara). The city council then decreed two days of mourning.
