The National Police arrested a 21-year-old man in Olot (Girona) to store and distribute child pornography, as reported by the organization in a press release this Thursday.
It was the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), based in the United States, which, during a cyber patrol, located a user in the town of Olot who had been store and distribute files of this nature.
The NCMEC transmitted this information to the Central Cybercrime Unit (UCC) of the National Police, which entrusted the investigation to the Provincial Brigade of Judicial Police of Girona. The latter managed to identify the perpetrator of the alleged crime after carrying out various procedures.
During the entry and search of the home, carried out on October 17, investigators discovered that the suspect was carrying out pedophile file downloadsas well as a “guide” that explained not only how to download this content, but also how to maintain relationships with minors, even very young ones, for which he was detained.
Forensic computer scientists from the National Police continue to analyze all the material seized, while the suspect, brought to justice on October 18, was released with precautionary measuresaccording to police sources close to the case.
