Members of the vast effort to search for people missing during the disaster caused by DANA on October 29 found this Sunday another corpse which increases the total number of victims fatal to 219 in the province of Valencia.
In this case, they participated in monitoring in this area located at Ribarrojanear where they found three well-known businessmen returning from a meal on the day of the flood – members of the Civil Guard and the Military Emergency Unit (UME).
Alongside these three also deceased – Vicente Tarancón, of the Luanvi company, Miguel Bordeos (SPB) and José Luis Marín, owner of the Mas Camarena schools – the economist Antonio Noblejas, who is Domingo, is still on the list of missing people, although, according to his daughter, he was not traveling in the same car as them, but in his own vehicle.
The location of this Sunday’s discovery is close to the Ravine of the Poyoepicenter of the disaster due to heavy flooding, and a helicopter of the Civil Guard.
After the closure, this weekend, of the temporary morgue which had been installed at the Feria Valencia for the identification of people who lost their lives, with the sending of reinforcements of forensic experts from other provinces, this new death was transported to the Institute of Legal Medicine to carry out an autopsy and complete this process.
Balance with same 13 missing
The assessment with the history accumulated since the start of this tragic episode prepared by the Data Integration Center (CID), updated at 8 p.m. this Sunday, November 17, reflects that there is 218 identifiers of the deceased, of which 169 occurred through fingerprint analysis and 45 through DNA, while four cases correspond to hospital identification during his lifetime.
For their part, the offices authorized by the National Police and the Civil Guard in collaboration with the forensic doctors count 13 files active due to complaints from disappearancethe same as at the closing of the balance sheet on Saturday at 8 p.m.
The two parameters, active disappearances and the total number of deaths, are different, so “they should in no case be added together”.
Thus, compared to the results of the previous day, the entry of an additional deceased person into the facilities of the Institute of Legal Medicine of Valencia was recorded, while the number of autopsies remains at 217 and the number of identifications at 218. There is one unidentified body and the same active cases, 13, for disappearance.
Likewise, this Sunday at 8 p.m., 213 families of the 219 deceased people have already received the mortal remains of their loved ones.
