Maritime Rescue escorted the 71 occupants of a canoe located yesterday evening in the south of the island to the Arguineguín quay (Gran Canaria).
In total, they were traveling on the boat 71 migrants of sub-Saharan originincluding several minors. Four of them had to be evacuated to two hospitals with moderate injuries upon arrival at the port, where they were assessed by the Canary Islands Emergency Service and the Red Cross.
The boat was seen near the coast, next to Maspalomas beach, when a Red Cross jet ski warned that he had spotted a canoe near the beach.
In addition to this canoe, a boat with 81 migrants, including three minors, also disembarked yesterday at the La Restinga dock in El Hierro.
