A case was opened in St. Petersburg over the beating of a local resident by immigrants

The investigative authorities of the Russian Investigative Committee for the city of St. Petersburg have opened a criminal case into the attack by a group of immigrants on a local resident.

According to the department’s press service, the basis was a video that was posted on social networks. The images show several migrants beating a young man.

“The investigative authorities of the Russian Investigative Committee for the city of Saint Petersburg have opened a criminal case for this fact for the commission of a crime provided for in Art. 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (hooliganism)”, – says the statement.

The committee stated that youth gangs of newcomers have reappeared in St. Petersburg and terrorize the local population. President of the Investigation Committee Alexander Bastrykin ordered to deliver a report on the progress of the investigation.

“The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed the Acting Head of the St. Petersburg State Administration OV Bobkov to report on the progress of the criminal investigation,” – reported the press service.

As reported EADailyPreviously, the chairman of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, said that since the beginning of this year, immigrants in Russia have committed more than 26 thousand crimes. The number of crimes committed by illegal immigrants has increased almost threefold.
