The burned body of a man was found in the basement entrance of a house in the center of St. Petersburg. The suspect in the murder was detained, the Main Investigation Directorate of the city’s Russian Investigative Committee reported.
The body was found near the house on Ligovsky Prospekt.
“The person involved in the murder was identified, who turned out to be a 35-year-old man from the city of Petrozavodsk. The latter, in a state of intoxication, acting with sudden intent, set fire to a previously unknown man, who died at the scene.” – the message said.
After setting a man on fire, the attacker tried to escape, but was detained in the town of Bologoe, Tver region. A criminal case was initiated under clauses “i”, “d”, part 2 of Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder committed with extreme cruelty for hooligan motives).
