Juan Manuel Moreno goes to China while the issue of the distribution of money in the Spain of the autonomies becomes increasingly complicated. Perhaps he will seek to meditate on the issue in the land of Confucius and find the magic formula that his party, the PP, cannot find. Beyond “everyone against the Catalan pact” and “everyone against Pedro Sánchez”, Alberto Núñez Feijóo must convince that there are no cracks in the eleven communities and two autonomous cities governed by the PP regarding the desired financing model and propose an alternative to the agreement in Catalonia. Likewise, the Minister of Finance, María Jesús Montero, must clarify what the singular financing will mean for Catalonia and how it will affect the rest of the autonomies of the general regime if it is as good for them as she says.
September is the month of pending issues. The PP wants to take the exam on the 6th. Let’s see if it succeeds and all its hubbub does not remain a Chinese tale, just another strategy to weaken the government of Pedro Sánchez until its fall. Montero did not give a date to clarify whether the PSC-ERC agreement is not a concert like the one in the Basque Country, as she claims, or if it is, as ERC defends and Josep Borrell understands. And if the idea of a federal state, as the project wants to present it, is also a story of history, because the situation does not allow for a national consensus as would be necessary.
