A cleric in Iran has strongly protested the severe discrimination against Azerbaijanis.

According to information, Tabriz City Council member Rasul Bargi has openly stated that Iranian state television and radio oppress Azerbaijani Turks and that those who greet passengers in the Azerbaijani language on the plane are insulted.
He said that Iran’s Television and Radio are concentrated in the hands of pan-Iranists and that they deliberately insult President Masoud Pezeshkian because he is Turkish.
