A court in Valencia has opened an investigation into what happened during the official visit to Paiporta of the kings, the president of the government, Pedro Sánchez, and that of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón. The four were booed, mud and objects were thrown at them, and the general manager had to be evacuated after a stick was thrown at him.
According to La Sexta, it was the Court of Instruction number 3 of Torrent which opened proceedings for three offenses: attack, disturbance of public order and damage. Civil Guard sources consulted by Europa Press confirmed that the report was sent to the court.
The Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, expressed this Monday morning in an interview his confidence that the Information Service of the Civil Guard would soon identify the “violent minority” who hit the President of the Government and threw objects and mud against the delegation of authorities led by the Kings in Paiporta (Valencia).
According to him, there was a “minimum of organization” among those who carried out the altercations, even if Marlaska did not want to confirm the link of far-right members or groups with this incident, pending the development of the investigation.
Marlaska clarified, in an interview with TVE collected by Europa Press, that the General Directorate of Information of the Civil Guard “has been investigating from the first minute” and “decisively”, confirming that Sánchez “received a blow”.
Regarding the reason why it was agreed to evacuate the president of the government, Marlaska replied that “for obvious security reasons” and not at the request of Sánchez himself, but that “it was decided by his group security, because there was a real and obvious risk.” since “he had already received a totally objectified blow”.
The head of the Interior specified that the evacuation of the delegation to Paiporta was “very difficult”, as “everyone was able to see or verify”, but that thanks to the “professionalism” of the entire security system deployed by Casa Real – to the head of the device -, in collaboration with the support services of the Civil Guard, “prevented” these “absolutely reprehensible events of violent marginals” from ending with “worse consequences”.
