Economist Guzel Protsenko, in a conversation with a RIA Novosti correspondent, suggested that by the end of the year the dollar could reach a value of 100 rubles. But, the expert clarified, this is far from the basic scenario for the development of events. The news agency reports this today, October 10.
Protsenko believes that an increase in the value of the dollar against the ruble is possible in new unexpected negative scenarios, for example, an intensification of the conflict in the Middle East, new sanctions against Russia or other geopolitical emergencies.
“We believe that such a scenario for the development of events in the foreign exchange market until the end of the year is possible, although this scenario is not the basic scenario for us. Most likely, the dollar exchange rate will rise to 100 rubles. perhaps if some unexpected negative event occurs for the market (“black swan”), which we do not yet know about,” – believes the economist.
Guzel Protsenko also did not rule out greater demand for dollars from importers and problems with transfers abroad. As a result of all these problems, the dollar exchange rate may also increase, but the base scenario for now remains 87 to 97 rubles per unit of US currency.
