The DANA caused devastation throughout the national territory, the greatest of the century. The most affected regions were the south and east of the peninsula, where the storm hit with all its fury in the afternoon of Tuesday and the early hours of Wednesday. So far there are at least more 60 confirmed deathsmost in the province of Valencia, one of the most affected.
Torrential rains have sowed chaos and panic in many localities where there are symbols of destruction by the passage and accumulation of water are more than evident. Emergency services, overwhelmed by the number of incidents they have had and are having to deal with, have not had the capacity to respond to all calls for help, leaving citizens in uncertainty as to what will happen.
Ruth Moyanoa neighbor from the affected municipality of Benetússer, is one of those people to whom the emergency services were unable to attend. Desperate over the rising waters, Moyano began documenting what had happened. via the X apppublications that started as a broadcast of what was happening and ended up being one of the few ways they had ask for help, as they were inundated with a dead man and young children.
The beginning
The first publication she put online on the social network took place around three in the afternoon, amazed by the flood that had formed in Paiporta, a municipality close to hers. As expected given the intensity of the storm, it did not take long for the water to reach Benetússer. It was already seven o’clock in the afternoon when Moyano uploaded his second video declaring that “the water reaches Benetússer. It’s 7:31 p.m..” As far as possible, everything was normal in these extraordinary weather conditions, as thousands of streets were filled with water.
Twenty minutes later, the situation had completely changed. The same flooded street had become a death trap, a sea on the asphalt that had trapped several pipelines.
res inside their cars. An hour after the first publication, residents of the Moyano building had gathered, there were people in wheelchairs who needed help and the first floors were already up to the top of the water.

It’s ten o’clock in the evening and Moyano has already tried many times to ask for help to have drinking water and no electricity.
The horror
“Please, I need urgent health service. I think my neighbor has no pulse,” Moyano emphasizes. The situation is becoming more and more serious as emergency services continue to fail to respond. Neighbors’ desperation is increasing and calls for attention are becoming more frequent, the old man doesn’t care They find the pulse and something like that. it smells burntbut they don’t know where it comes from.
Please!!!! I need urgent health care. I think my neighbor doesn’t have a pulse.

Three o’clock in the morning arrives and the Civil Guard appears in front of the building walking through the waters. However, they cannot access the gate because a wrecked car prevents them. Hours pass and help still does not arrive, while Moyano finds herself locked in with her neighbors on the top floor, a dead man and young children.
Publications in x They don’t stop and neither does their virality. Around five in the morning, Moyano comments that “no help has arrived. I am with two children aged 15 and 12, a very elderly neighbor and her husband. He has no mobility. And another neighbor who came home and died. There has been no water in the street for a few hours and no sirens have been heard. “No help for anyone.”
The neighbor at door 15 goes up to door 19. He feels bad. Dizziness and chest pain. He is older. It’s 10:14 p.m. We have no electricity and the water does not flow. No help arrived.@GVA112

Fortunately 112 was able to contact Moyano around ten o’clock this morning, and they will try to get to his house as he assured through the application. He was also able to reconnect with his parents after a night marked by uncertainty and drama. But it’s not over, as he states in his last comment at 10:35. “More water is coming!”
