The court made a decision on Ramin Aghakhanov, accused of killing a couple and burning their house in the Yalama village of Khachmaz district.
The “Report” reports that the trial of the appeal filed by the defendant’s defenders before the Sumgayit Court of Appeal has ended.
In the appeal, the lawyers asked that Ramin Aghakhanov be sentenced under articles 187.2 and 122.2 of the Criminal Code (intentional homicide of two or more persons in a state of strong mental excitement).
According to the decision, the appeal was not upheld.
It should be noted that the event occurred on April 10 of last year in the aforementioned region. According to the indictment, Ramin Aghakhanov, born in 1996, came to the victim’s house and injured him with a knife to avoid paying money owed to the victims.
After killing them, he was convicted of burning the house to hide the crime and destroy traces of the crime.
He was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Sumgayit Serious Crimes Court.
