In just a few months, the Civil Guard used the worker’s data to record telephone lines and take out three loans from Cofidis and Cetelem for a total amount of 36,000 euros. He also tried, unsuccessfully, to sign up for a credit card with Wizink.
The victim went to live in Palma and discovered nothing until she tried to take out a loan herself to renovate the kitchen of the house she had just bought in the town where she was stationed . The entity informed him that he could not get more money because he already had several unpaid loans and was registered as a defaulter with Asnef. The agent, who had never applied for a loan, reported the facts and the investigation quickly led to his former surveillance partner at the Ministry of National Education.
The Department of Internal Affairs of the Civil Guard discovered that the money from these unpaid loans had gone to a bank account linked to the family of the other agent, where they even deposited his pay. In addition, a good part of the calls to credit institutions to obtain the money had been made from Madrid or Malaga, cities where the convicted person was, while the victim was already in the Balearic Islands in his new destination. “Solid evidence” against the Civil Guard
