A recent crash on Highway 40 in Arkansas involved two tractor-trailers and a truck carrying “potentially explosive” military devices. The crash killed one person and blocked traffic on a busy highway for several hours, authorities said.
No one else was injured, according to Dave Parker, a spokesman for the Arkansas Department of Transportation.
He said the truck contained potentially explosive military devices, but gave no details. Explosive experts were brought in, the area was evacuated and the military devices were removed.
The busy highway was closed overnight in both directions within a radius of 1.5 kilometres. It was reopened late in the morning the following day.
