Two people in the engine room lost their lives in a fire on a cargo ship in the Sea of Marmara, Türkiye.

A fire broke out on the 104 meter long dry cargo ship “FG SEVIL”, which was traveling from Yalova to Bulgaria on the shores of Sadaf Island in the Sea of Marmara. After receiving the information, rescue teams headed to the place. With the intervention of the groups, the fire was controlled and 17 crew members and 6 workers from the ship’s shipyard were evacuated. Hüseyin Aydemir and Gökhan Khan, who were in the ship’s engine room, lost their lives.
