In the Astara District Court, the judicial investigation of the criminal case of the Iranian citizen SS (conditional), accused of illegally crossing the state border, concluded.
According to information obtained by Pravda.az, the sentence was read in the trial presided over by Judge Ilgar Mammadov.
According to the court ruling, SS was sentenced to one year in prison. The verdict said that after serving the main sentence, the defendant should be forcibly removed from the borders of Azerbaijan.
According to the indictment, the SS could not cross the pedestrian crossing due to the restrictions imposed at the checkpoints of the guarded state border of Azerbaijan, as well as because he could not come to our country to live and work due to the fact that did not have the specified document for crossing the guarded state border, i.e. passport, on July 5, 2024, outside the checkpoints of the state border, i.e. the coast of the State Border Service of Azerbaijan. the Caspian Sea Swimming in the sea from the area located about 4.5 kilometers from the right side of the Astara Coast Guard coast guard unit, deliberately crossed illegally from Iran to Azerbaijan. On July 5, 2024, at around 11 o’clock, he was discovered and detained by employees of the Astara District Police Department of the Ministry of Interior of Azerbaijan on “Astara Boulevard” located in the city of Astara.
The foreigner was charged under Article 318.1 (illegally crossing the state border of the Republic of Azerbaijan) of the Criminal Code.
