According to information obtained by “Report”, he was sentenced to 12 years and 6 months in prison in the trial presided over by Judge Oruj Jalilov at the Lankaran Serious Crimes Court.
According to the indictment, Sohrabi Akbar Gesmat acted with the aim of attracting Azerbaijani citizens to secret cooperation by the special services body of a foreign country and collected information about strategic objects and transferred it to another country in violation of state security. .
He was charged with article 276 (espionage) of the Criminal Code at the Investigation Directorate of the State Security Service.
