Next Monday, the Provincial Court of Almería will host the trial against the former spokesperson for Vox at the town hall of Huércal de Almería, Arturo Ramón Torres. He will sit in the dock for two crimes of sexual abuse of a minorone of them continuously, for which the prosecution is asking for 15 years in prison.
The former municipal councilor submitted his resignation for personal reasons in 2021, he had been in office since 2019. He now faces a petition for 18 years probation as well as the payment of compensation for moral damage of 10,000 euros in favor of the teenager, among other ancillary sanctions, as indicated in the provisional indictment.
Since 2018, “on several occasions and in a libidinous spirit”, he has made comments of a sexual nature to a minor in his environment, reports IDEAL Almería. According to information collected “on several occasions”, they were accompanied by “touch” in intimate areas “sometimes on clothes and other times under shirts or pants.”
The prosecution emphasizes that the accused had abused the minor when the victim was 12 years old even touching her in her intimate areas, under and over her clothes on different occasions, while making expressions about her developing breasts and buttocks.
The accused took the girl to a rural property he owned in a municipality other than that of his residence. “During the trip and once they arrived there, he offered the minor various cannabis joints“, details the tax document, which caused the young woman “dizziness and stupor”. Taking advantage of this situation, the man carried out other sexual acts without the consent of the young woman and without her can put up resistance.
The former councilor was part of the government team of the Huércal de Almería City Hall between 2019 and February 2021, when the first mayor of Huercal, Ismael Torres (PP), ended the alliance before the disagreements between partners of the government.
