The Court of Instruction number 22 of Madrid, presided over by Judge Patricia Jiménez-Alfaro, opened proceedings following the complaint for threats filed by Nacho Cano against Leslie Guadalupe, the intern who had previously denounced the producer for alleged crimes against the rights of foreigners and workers in the musical Malinche. As advanced The world and a spokesperson for the Superior Court of Justice of Madrid confirmed to elDiario.es, the dancer is summoned to testify on December 12.

Last September, Cano reported Leslie Guadalupe for “conditional threats” and revealing secrets. To do this, he presented as alleged evidence WhatsApp messages in which the young woman requested a payment of 6,000 euros, a letter of recommendation and a stay in a hotel to prevent her from “proceeding legally”. The dancer explained that she had spoken with her lawyer about her situation in the play and that she could sue him for “neglect, discrimination, psychological violence and deprivation of liberty in the home, among other things.” These messages were allegedly sent on December 22, 2023, before the complaint was filed.

This case of alleged threats is independent of the procedure opened before another court in Madrid to determine whether the former member of Mecano irregularly retained twenty trainees in his musical Malinche. In fact, the investigator of this case, Inmaculada Iglesias, considered these messages “irrelevant and useless” to advance her investigation and refused to include them in the case.

Leslie Guadalupe was summoned to testify on October 28 in the case, although she asked to postpone her appearance because she was not “in good condition.” The Mexican assures that after being “locked for two hours in the hostel” where she lived with the rest of the trainees, Cano and his team offered her “3,000 euros, a return ticket and to sign a letter of disengagement” from her. The dancer refused to accept their conditions and, as detailed in this newspaper, they offered her “more money, up to 10,000 euros”. “I didn’t accept anything,” he said.
