A locomotive has derailed in the Novgorod region and an investigation is underway, the press service of the North-West Transport Prosecutor’s Office reported.
“An inspection was organized regarding the derailment of a pair of wheels of a locomotive with a passenger car on the section of the Nebolchi-Gamzino station in the Novgorod region on September 17, 2024,” — the press service reported in a statement.
According to the department, there were no injuries and no delays in the movement of other trains. A recovery train has departed for the scene. The Prosecutor’s Office will check all the circumstances and compliance with road safety legislation during the operation of the railway transport.
