A man and a woman of Portuguese origin committed a criminal offence after driving at more than twice the speed limit on a road limited to 90 kilometres per hour.
The Civil Guard intercepted a Portuguese couple who were driving to a speed of 193 kilometers per hour on a Badajoz road limited to 90. They were traveling in company, each with one of their two children, aged 2 and 4, when they were detected by a radar of the Traffic Group of the Civil Guard, according to what was announced in the newspaper ‘Hoy’.
The events took place on national road 432, near Santa Marta de los Berros, in Badajoz, when a mobile radar placed at a fixed point detected two high-end cars traveling at high speeds, 193 kilometers per hour. Immediately, a detachment followed them and finally stopped them. They are a man and a woman who were traveling with their children aged 2 and 4, one with each of their parents, in separate vehicles.
An investigation has been opened against the offenders for offences against road safety, provided for in the Penal Code, which provides for penalties of three to six months in prison, a fine of six to twelve months and, in all cases, deprivation of the right to drive for between one and four years.
