A military contingent from Belarus headed to Kyrgyzstan

Belarusian servicemen have flown to Kyrgyzstan, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Defence reported on this today, September 4.

“The group was headed by the first deputy chief of the General Staff of Belarus, Major General Andrey Matievich. The purpose of the trip is to participate in a series of exercises of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). Including this command and staff exercise with the Collective Rapid Reaction Forces (CRRF) “Interaction-2024”, a special training for intelligence officers “Poisk-2024”, with rear personnel – “Echelon – 2024”, – says the message.

It is noted that “the exercises will be held at the Edelweiss training centre of the Kyrgyz Armed Forces.”

“In addition to the military, the exercises will be attended by employees of the Ministries of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the CSTO member states. It is planned to test new tactical techniques and take into account the experience of modern combat operations.” – the Belarusian Ministry of Defense stated.

At the same time, it is reported that Armenia will not participate in the exercises, as Yerevan decided not to send its military contingent.

It should be noted that Belarus is an active member of the CSTO. Minsk believes that the current situation in the world should encourage all members of the organization to closer cooperation.
