Handcuffed and stabbed, this is how the doctor was found in August Rafael Piorno, 76 years oldat his home in Aguadulce, Roquetas de Mar. The Civil Guard announced this Thursday the arrest of three people, including a National Police officer stationed in El Ejido, who are believed to be involved in the violent death of a doctor.
Two of those arrested for the homicide to have been imprisoned while a third was released under investigation, without it being possible to determine whether it was the policeman. The arrests took place in León, Almería and Roquetas de Mar, as reported by La Benemérita.
The operation called “Alhabana” began on August 25, after the discovery of the lifeless body of a person. with obvious signs of violence after being found inside her house in the town of Aguadulce in Almeria. The event generated a wide media and social impact due to the popularity of the deceased, who in addition to being a pediatrician had been part of the PP candidacy in the town on several occasions.
Initial investigations suggested that the victim may have a link or keep a certain relationship with the possible perpetrators, according to the analysis study, at the crime scene, by the criminalist specialists of the Judicial Police. Thanks to the information collected during the forensic analysis, as well as other data revealed and clarified during the investigation, it would be temporarily established that the victim’s death occurred on August 23.
All actions focused on locate related people at home and to the deceased himself. Due to the extensive network of contacts he maintained in his personal and professional environment, the investigation required great effort and exhaustive analysis.
A hard work of data collection, demonstrations and information through interviews has allowed test different hypotheses about what happened. As new evidence was obtained, it was possible to obtain a reconstruction of what happened and to situate the alleged perpetrators in time and space in relation to the events.
After the investigation, it was confirmed that one of the detainees knew the deceased directlywhich allowed him to know their routines and schedules. This information provided him with sufficient and necessary information to plan his action against the victim, with the final consequences of the event.
Another of the prisoners would have moved from León expressly to act in the house where the events occurred, acting in coordination with another of the detainees. Both were aware of the security measures they had to adopt to avoid being located before and after the events. Using various alibis, they tried to approach the victim in order to gain his trust and thus carry out their intentions.
The two alleged perpetrators attempted to erase all traces of the place which linked them to the deceased. Various analyses are underway to continue to prove the involvement and connection of the alleged perpetrators, as well as their relationship with the effects and means used in the commission of the events.
