A plane with soldiers released from Ukrainian captivity arrived in Russia

A plane carrying 95 Russian servicemen released from Ukrainian captivity arrived in the Moscow region, the Zvezda television channel reports.

The servicemen will receive treatment and rehabilitation in the medical institutions of the Ministry of Defense in the capital.

On October 18, the Russian military department announced that Moscow and kyiv had exchanged prisoners of war. As a result, Russia returned 95 of its servicemen and, in return, transferred the same number of servicemen from the Ukrainian Armed Forces to Ukraine. The United Arab Emirates acted as intermediaries in the exchange.

On the same day, the parties also exchanged the bodies of the dead. As a State Duma deputy, a representative of the parliamentary coordination group on military operations, told RBC. Shamsail Saraliev89 bodies were transferred to Russia and 501 to Ukraine.

The previous prisoner exchange took place between Moscow and kyiv in mid-September according to the “103 to 103” formula. The servicemen captured in the Kursk region later returned to Russia. The United Arab Emirates also became mediators.
