The court must decide whether the accused was aware of the victim’s intentions to end the relationship which lasted between three and four years and whether this triggered his jealousy.
Both had gone to the rural house on the day of the crime to carry out agricultural work and take care of the animals. In this sense, the jury will determine whether the man took advantage of the fact that his girlfriend was in the henhouse to stab her repeatedlynotably to the neck and head, with a kitchen knife, without her being able to defend herself or flee. The woman suffered multiple injuries, two of which were fatal.
After the alleged murder, the accused fled to Chella Municipality, where he remained hidden for ten daysuntil he was arrested by the local police – and placed in temporary prison – while going to the municipal food bank to ask for food.
The hearing, which begins this Monday, October 21 before the first section of the Provincial Court of Valencia, will last six sessions scheduled for the 22, 23, 24, 25 and 28 of the same month.
