From this Wednesday, the Provincial Court of the Balearic Islands will hold the jury trial against two accused of the murder of a young tourist, a 20-year-old German national, by throwing him on the Llucmajor highway. The events occurred on October 8, 2022, when around 10:30 p.m. the victim was ejected from a moving van on the highway, leaving her lying on the road. Shortly after, she was hit by a vehicle traveling on the road.
The trial will begin at 9:00 a.m. with the constitution of the Jury. Once constituted, the public hearing will begin with the reading of the parties’ writings by the lawyer of the Administration of Justice, their explanation to the Jury by the parties, the proposition of evidence and the questioning of the accused.
The indictment specifies that the two defendants had put the young man, under the influence of alcohol, into their van. Moments later, according to the prosecutor, at kilometer 10,900 of the Llucmajor highway (Ma-19) towards Palma, The accused, who had previously accepted, threw the young man from the left side of the vehicle.
The victim remained lying on the road and was hit by a vehicle which was traveling on the road and which, notes the document, could do nothing to prevent the collision and the death of the young man.
The two accused have been detained for these events since October 23 and 24 last year.
The prosecution considers the facts constituting a crime of murder and request for each of the accused 25 years in prison and that they jointly compensate each of the young man’s parents to the amount of 86,400 euros and his sister to the amount of 24,700 euros.
It should be remembered that the National Police followed almost 100,000 vans and compared their number plates with more than ten million vehicles that had been circulating in Mallorca to find those involved in the assassination and clarify what had initially been caused by a road accident.
As the police explained, although the investigation began as a traffic accident, the statements of a witness after seeing the news in the press changed the course of the investigation when it was reported that there would be third parties involved.
The police investigation
In October 2023, the National Police clarified the murder. The death of the tourist occurred on October 8, 2022, around 10:30 p.m., while The victim was thrown from a moving truck on the Levante highway, Ma-19, unconscious and lying on the road, crushed by one of the vehicles traveling on the road.
Agents arrested two men of Spanish origin, 36 and 44 years old as alleged perpetrators of the crime of murder. The Homicide group of the National Police took charge of the investigations because the first hypotheses according to which the young man had voluntarily crossed the road vanished, because there were circumstances which determined the third party participation.
After initial investigations, officers were able to establish that third parties had participated in the young man’s death and that the victim was allegedly taken to the highway where he was knocked down while lying on the road.

Police narrowed down the list and were able to locate a van that could be linked to the events. But apparently a few days later It was labeled with the corporate image of the company to which it belonged and the person who used it on the days the incident occurred was no longer an employee of it.
Little by little, they collected data to determine the driver’s participation and identify third parties, trying to get an answer on the motive for the crime.
In November 2023, agents arrested the worker and one of the actors involved in the province of Malaga. The next day, they arrested the third person involved in Palma. All are alleged perpetrators of the crime of murder.
Investigators stopped the van in which the victim was riding, who was under the influence of alcoholic beverages. Once inside, the two men allegedly tried to rob the tourist until finally one of them threw the victim’s inert body through the sliding door of the van that was traveling on the highway. The body was left on the road, struck by another vehicle and causing his death instantly.
