A new week of continuing tragedy in Spain. New week and there are three… 24 days exactly since a huge tragedy occurred in Spain which remains daily with the anguish of not seeing a quick solution to the enormous needs of all kinds, starting with all the attention paid to people and of course the constant search in the many places where there are still vehicles buried in the mud. The panorama here is Dantesque. The armies are not deployed as planned and the national emergency has still not been declared nor the civil protection law applied in the face of the national catastrophe. It was criminal not to proceed with the full deployment from the first minute because many lives would have been saved and it continues to be a criminal act not to use absolutely all means on a daily basis and for twenty-four days.
There are no words to describe all this. It is unusual that in the midst of this scandal of complete and deliberate abandonment and in addition to the omission and refusal of assistance, one of the main responsible, since the main responsible is the President of the Government, is the Vice -President and Minister of Ecological Transition, who alone presented himself to Congress two days ago, after 22 days of absence; and is also the designated one for the vice-president of the European Commission. Of course, he didn’t admit his guilt or take any responsibility, blaming it all on others.
Likewise, nothing on the abandonment of responsibility for six years in terms of prevention.
With all this baggage, instead of withdrawing from the candidacy for the position of vice-president and European commissioner, not only does she not do so, but she maneuvers to obtain the position in a shameful and ignominious manner. The European People’s Party confirms that it will vote for it and the Spaniards do not seem to do so, but the example, if consummated, will be an absolute discredit and indecency not only for the Spaniards but for Europe. No standard of compliance European for any public position, neither of minimal ethics, nor of any exemplarity, is given and facing the most tragic but best known test with its images throughout the world of an unprecedented tragedy, and the resulting complete abandonment of any responsibility and decency.
When we were there, at those hours, the news of Aldama’s declaration broke out, directly naming the president of the government, two vice-presidents, including the one in question, other ministers and relevant officials of the Socialist Party, in more than the wife of the president of the government. Unprecedented corruption is uncovered and another major problem has emerged since yesterday. In addition, closely linked to those who are convicted by the United Nations for crimes against humanity, in a very serious situation and with no known history. The most absolute indecency pierces the foundations, walls and roofs of our democracy. The most absolute degeneration and vileness, eating away at the fundamental foundations of our coexistence.
There are no words to describe this situation. Unprecedented perversion and ignominy in our history.
A president of the government at the head of a total betrayal of Spain and at the head of a continuous and incredible baseness, because horrifying and Dantesque, and without known precedent, because it is impossible, in any democracy.
