A prisoner in Baku WANTED TO KILL a prisoner with a knife

The trial of Azer Shaliyev, accused of attempting to kill his fellow inmate, was held at the penitentiary.

Lent.az reports that the conclusion of the investigation was announced at the trial chaired by Faig Ganiyev, a judge at the Baku Serious Crimes Court.

Prosecutor Babajan Hasanaliyev spoke. He said that during the judicial investigation it was confirmed that Azer Shaliyev committed the incident.

In his speech, the prosecutor asked the court for a sentence of 16 years.

Later, Azer Shaliyev’s lawyer asked for time to speak.

The next court hearing is scheduled for October 2.

It should be noted that both persons were sentenced to the same penitentiary. Azer Shaliyev seriously injured Shahriyar Bakhishaliyev in the throat during the dispute between them.

Azer Shaliyev was charged under Article 120.2.2 of the Criminal Code (hooliganism and attempted murder).

Please note that both persons were living under the death penalty. Thus, the accused Azer Shaliyev has 1 year and 7 months left to serve his sentence, and the victim Shahriyar Bakhishaliyev has almost 3 years left.
