Towards the end of the afternoon, a long day of debates ended in the Madrid Assembly. A parliamentary event in which a bizarre moment stood out, featuring a socialist deputy, Juanjo Marcano Dasilva. During the debate on a motion by Vox against the distribution of foreign minors, the PSOE representative from Madrid attacked the opposition of the regional government against the national government, chaired by Pedro Sánchez.
So far, the usual inertia in the Madrid Parliament since Isabel Díaz Ayuso has been at the head of the regional government. What makes the situation exceptional is the argument used by Marcano himself. “Listening to them sincerely, I think that Sánchez, Sánchez, Sánchez is pure and simple envy,” he assured about the insistence of the Madrid PP to oppose the Socialist Executive. “I understand them because, as good as it is, I understand that they have this disgusting envy,” he said from his seat.
“I want to thank you personally for your personal involvement in the development and design of a more humane policy on immigration,” he had defended in his speech during the debate on immigration in the regional chamber. From there, the argument degenerated to the accusation of “envy” because “they will never occupy the place and position that President Sánchez occupies.
The scene ended with applause and smiles from the socialist deputies.
“I don’t know if I understood you correctly, are you saying that you are envious of Mr. Sánchez because he is good? On such a serious subject, that you end your intervention like this…”, replied, perplexed, a PP politician in the Assembly. At the same time, messages from regular right-wing accounts multiplied on social networks, attacking the argument used by the deputy.
