À Punt broadcasts live the International Valencian Paella Competition Sueca

next sunday At Punt has prepared a special live program on the occasion of the 63rd edition of the Sueca Valencian Paella International Competition.

From 11:30 in the morning, Ferran Cano and Berta Baidez will be in charge of narrating the entire contest from a set set up in the heart of the party. Carles Navarro and Claudia Argent will show us the paellas that the forty restaurants competing in the Contest will cook. This year, three chefs from Sueca, twelve from the Valencian Community, eleven nationals and fourteen internationals, from countries such as Japan, Colombia, Argentina and Mexico, are participating. All the paellas must follow the traditional recipe and use the ingredients provided by the organization.

Eugeni Alemányofficial presenter of the event, will also be on our set to comment on some details of the competition. In addition, during this special program, we will be able to see images from the early years of the contest, which began in 1961 and is the oldest in Spain. Francisco Jackson, Michael Jackson’s official lookalike, will also be present on the set of À Punt, as will a txaranga who will provide the soundtrack for the event.

As a novelty, À Punt has organized a parallel competition that will pit different presenters of À Punt against each other in this culinary battle, who will prepare three paellas. The jury of the competition At PuntOscar Tramoyeres, comedian and presenter and Ruben Fenollar, chef of the magazine Bon dia Comunitat Valenciana, will be the ones to decide which of the three paellas is the winner.

Àlex Blanquer, Ximo Rovira, Hu Zhao, Jose Saez, María Maroto and Ana Sirvent, Xavi Borrás, Clara Castelló and Juanma Melero will be responsible for making the paellas.

Visitors will be able to see how the presenters of À Punt cook and will also be able to take photos in the legendary restaurant. Joan Monleón’s Russian Paellawhich will be exhibited for the first time alongside the paellas that the À Punt presenters will cook.

At 1:30 p.m., the À Punt jury will deliver its verdict on the paellas of its presenters, then Reyes Martí will draw a “mascletà”.

From 1:50 p.m., À Punt will offer entry to the Bulls and horses of Segorbe and the news, then it will be the NTC Migdia, back at 16:00. at the International Valencian Paella Competition Sueca. It will be time to get to know the restaurant that will win the title of Best Paella in the World 2024.
