A mysterious incident occurred in the zoological and botanical gardens in central Hong Kong (China). Zoo staff found eight dead monkeys of various species, including rare and exotic breeds.

The dead animals are said to include a De Brazza monkey, a common squirrel monkey, three tamarins and three white-faced saki monkeys.
The Hong Kong government immediately arranged an autopsy and laboratory tests to determine the cause of the animals’ death.
Pending test results, the zoo’s mammal section was closed for disinfection and cleaning.
