Oku.AzThis was reported to the Turkish media by Mehmet Tütüncü, author of the project and specialist at the Department of Horticulture at the Faculty of Agriculture at Ondokuz May University.
Tutüncu said that work began two years ago to use fish waste in agriculture. The waste obtained from the companies was converted into amino acids through chemical processes and roses were grown with these amino acids.
“This is a project supported by TÜBİTAK (Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey). From anchovy waste, we developed a product called bioactivator or biostimulator. We are studying the effect of this product on growth parameters by applying it to cultivated roses . in cashew peat in soilless agriculture We are in the third year of the project. Every year roses are collected periodically and the effect of our product is analyzed.
In fact, fish has been used since ancient times as fertilizer and plant nutrition. However, today we have prepared a product that supports plant fertilization by combining anchovy waste from local and local products with new technologies.
After testing and analysis, we aim to commercialize this product in the near future,” said Mehmet Tütüncü.
