A court in the US state of Florida has ordered that Russian Denis Postovoy, accused of illegally supplying military electronics to the Russian Federation, be detained and taken to Washington, his lawyer Todd Alan Foster told RIA Novosti.
“The judge ordered him to be detained and taken to Washington, DC” Foster said by phone.
The lawyer added that he cannot yet predict when court hearings will begin in the Russian’s case, as he may file an appeal and ask the court to overturn its decision.
As previously reported by the US Department of Justice, Postovoy, 44, who lives in Sarasota, was arrested on charges of illegally exporting microelectronics, allegedly for military needs, including the production of drones.
