Cristina Álvarez, a senior official at Moncloa, asked Reale by email to continue financing Begoña Gómez’s chair. In a message sent on February 8, 2024 to which LaSexta had access, Álvarez acted as messenger of the president’s wife to convey to her the desire that she continue to finance Gómez’s chair: “Begoña tells me that she tells you that she would like you to continue as godmothers of the Chair.”
In the three new volumes of the trial against Begoña Gómez, the senior Moncloa official emphasizes that the amount does not matter “even if it’s with a smaller amount.” He ends the message by saying they would be “willing to work with you on anything you need.” Cristina Álvarez joined the Presidency of Government on July 16, 2018, serving as Director of Programs.
On the other hand, several emails were sent, including one from Begoña Gómez, to bring Reale to the presidency in exchange for funding of around 15,000 euros per year. Ignacio Mariscal Carnicero, one of those responsible, sent the following message: “The president, I think that the 15,000 euros would be used to “sponsor” them. with what I guess we would call Cátedra Reale, whatever… please check!”
After that, in one of the volumes to which laSexta had access, it is confirmed that La Caixa and Reale financed the chair with 15,000 euros each for four years. Gómez asked companies for students for his master’s degree
“We receive requests, but unfortunately “We see that the profiles do not have the professional experience that we would like.” This is the message with which Begoña Gómez asked in September 2021 several companies to look for students for her master’s degree at the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM).
