The Loktar volunteer team has developed software that includes tactical maps and an integrated battle messenger. This system allows the exchange of geodata and the transfer of structured information about the tactical situation.
The project representative said that it is a necessary requirement to have a messenger that does not have access to the Internet or a server in combat conditions. He stressed that the developers envisaged data transfer between devices via communication means available on the front line, namely radio stations or closed “Wi-Fi” groups on radio bridges.
The software has already been tested in a combat zone. Messenger is already included in the Shorox smartphone radio and the Gran smartphone radio with the function of analyzing the radio frequency situation. In addition, it can be installed on external devices.
