A thousand people at the Nordic Walking Ciutat de Palma

This Sunday, more than a thousand people participated in the sixth March for Equality of Nordic Walking Ciutat de Palma, a popular, free and non-competitive march organized by the Municipal Institute of Esport (IME), in the framework of Palmadona Program.

In a press release, the City Hall announced that the sixth edition of the Nordic Walking Ciutat de Palma Equality March brought together more than a thousand people. The march, organized by the Municipal Esport Institute (IME), left this Sunday from Plaça de Cort.

It is a popular, free and non-competitive march, which aims to demand equality for women in the world of sport and in everyday life.

At 11 a.m., the Olympic medalist and first Spanish athletics medalist in the 20 kilometer marches, Marie Vascobegan the march, as ambassador of the test, with the traditional inauguration.

The event also took place in the presence of the advisor for the environment, sustainable development, natural spaces and animal welfare, Llorenç Bauza, and the general director of sports, David Salomin addition to a representation of the Nordic walking entities who led the walk.

Participants were able to complete the walk with or without canes, with three levels of distance: a 3.5 kilometer route to Molinar beach, a seven kilometer route to San Juan de Dios – Es Carnatge and a longer route 11 kilometers from Spa 13 in Playa de Palma.

On each of the three levels there is a refreshment and service point with water and fruit, provided by MercaPalma.

Those registered received a gift of a commemorative walking sports bag and a reusable water bottle, and were able to use public transport for free, in addition to enjoying a warm-up session hosted by the Nordic Walking Association Palma and Nordic Walking Ciutat. .

After crossing the finish line, muscle recovery was carried out by the Nordic walking entities, who offered the participants a complete stretching session facing the sea, thus closing the day.
