Almachara small municipality in the region of Axarquiawill become the epicenter of the Gastronomy of Malaga with the celebration of the 54th edition of its emblematic Ajoblanco Festival. The Ajoblanco Festival, declared National Tourist Interest of Andalusianot only celebrates a dish deeply rooted in Andalusian tradition, but also represents a tribute to the rural way of life and the local products from Axarquía, such as muscat, wine and raisins.
Since its first edition in 1968Every first Saturday of September, this festival is a must for those who want to taste and learn more about the culinary and cultural heritage of the province of Malaga.

This recognition highlights the uniqueness of the Malaga raisin production system, which supports some 2,000 families who cultivate around 1,700 hectares of vines in Axarquía.

The festival programme includes various activities designed for all audiences, from workshops and exhibitions to fashion shows. verdialesa traditional form of music and dance from Malaga. “Free tours” will also be offered to early risers, who will be able to discover the most emblematic corners of Almáchar through guided tours.
