At least three people have died and four others have been injured in an accident in the Valencian municipality of Benifairó de les Valls. A truck with brake problems collided with two vans and knocked down several seasonal workers who were working in the orchard.
The accident notification was received around 4 p.m. at the Emergency Information and Coordination Center (CICU), warning that a truck with brake problems had knocked down several people.
As municipal sources explain, the accident occurred when the truck of an orange picking company had a brake problem on a narrow and steep road in the orchard, causing several workers to be crushed. The CICU mobilized a medical helicopter, two SAMU units, two Basic Life Support (BLS) units and a primary care medical team.
As a result of the accident, three people died and four others were injured to varying degrees. The four injured were transferred to different hospitals.
At the scene of the accident, the Provincial Firefighters Consortium of Valencia moved troops from the Sagunt Park with a sergeant, from the Pobla de Farnals and the officer of the provincial corps. At 6:15 p.m., the firefighters await the arrival of the Judicial Police to evacuate a person trapped under the truck.
