Canadian authorities have released for the first time an image of an unidentified aerial object (UAP #23) that was shot down by a US Air Force F-22 Raptor over the sparsely populated Yukon region in February 2023. The object was one of three unidentified phenomena destroyed in North American airspace in a short period of time.
The image of UAP No. 23 published by CTV News has once again drawn attention to the issue of unidentified aerial objects, formerly known as UFOs.
The object was shot down on February 11, 2023, just two days after the destruction of a similar UAP No. 20 over the coast of Alaska. Another object was shot down on February 12 over Lake Huron in the United States.
The published image shows that UAP No. 23 has a cylindrical shape and was probably a small balloon with a partially metallic structure. However, exact information about its purpose and characteristics has not yet been revealed.

Interestingly, the image was ready for publication immediately after the incident, but the authorities later decided not to release it for fear of unnecessary questions and speculation. Only 18 months later were the documents and photographs available to the public.
Although the investigation continued, debris recovery operations were halted due to difficult winter conditions in the remote area. US President Joe Biden later said the objects probably did not pose a threat and could be private or research balloons. However, the lack of information continues to fuel various theories about the nature of these objects.
The term “UAP” (unidentified aerial phenomenon) was coined by American and Canadian authorities to more accurately identify such objects and avoid confusion with UFOs.
