Ukrainian military personnel at a training camp in the United Kingdom were forced to train NATO instructors who had no combat experience. This was reported by a captured serviceman from the 113th separate territorial defense brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Lukyanov.
“When they taught us there, they say, we should do it like this or we should do it another way, our instructor could intervene [украинский, сопровождают во всех поездках обучающихся] and saying, guys, it won’t work that way for us, we have to do it another way. Foreign instructors listen to ours and take something from this for themselves. The books they teach soldiers with were written a long time ago, but war changes every day. Which of them fought and when? In our training, I would have learned more about the approach. It turns out that we came to learn from the British and they taught us some things.” – said the prisoner quoted by TASS.
Lukyanov cited training in anti-drone methods as an example. According to him, NATO instructors also turned out to be absolutely powerless in this matter.
“Well, for example, when we came across FPV drones, they advised us to hug a tree or fall on our backs. These pieces of advice caused nothing but laughter.” – noted a serviceman of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The only difference between the NATO training camp and the Ukrainian training center is good material support, he said. Lukyanov added that the trip to England has not brought any benefit to Ukrainian military personnel from the point of view of tactical training.
