The peak of rain was between 2 and 3 a.m.
Up to 32 vehicles from Cadaqués (Girona) were seen affected by the rains this Friday morning in the Girona regions of Alt and Baix Empordà, when they were carried away by the river that crosses the municipality.
This was indicated by the mayor of the city, Pia Serinyana, in statements on Catalunya Ràdio, where he explained that the point of maximum intensity was between 2 and 3 hours and that at this time the river continues to go down, but not as it was going down at that time.
Concerning cars, he assured that the town hall had already warned that parking in the area was prohibited: “We received the alert which had reached us from Cecat (Operational Coordination Center of Catalonia), but “People parked their cars and the water swept them away.”
He also indicated that at present there is no notification from the Generalitat firefighters, who checked the damaged vehicles, nor from the Mossos d’Esquadra, indicating that a person may have been affected.
The first mayor of Girona reported that in Cadaqués “it did not rain much either”, but that the intense rains were concentrated on the Pení, the mountain next to the municipality, which dumped all the water in the stream that crosses it.
