The rains surprised several localities in western Almería this Monday afternoon. A strong waterspout landed in the region of Dalías. The intensity of the precipitation caused the emergence of several boulevards and the activation of the pre-emergency for the risk of flooding, with an orange warning, according to the National Meteorological Agency (Aemet).
From 112 they indicated that notices were received from 4:00 p.m., especially for the affected roads, including the A7 motorway which crosses kilometer 831 near Balanegra. The DGT itself communicated difficult driving conditions in both directions, around kilometer 829. In this sense, several motorists alerted of the existence of heavy rains in the area, which temporarily affected traffic and forced firefighters to be mobilized for drainage tasks.
The rains also affected the road around Pampanico, on AL3303 in the municipality of Ejidense, where calls were also received regarding several overflowed sewers. The precipitation causedat the exit of different ramblas which, for the moment, have not caused any bodily harm.
The Automatic Hydrological Information System (SAIH) of the Hidrosur Network reported precipitation of up to 31.7 liters per square meter the average drops in the Benínar-Aguadulce channel in an hour between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. -, with 41.5 liters per square meter accumulated in the last 12 hours.

The mayor of Balanegra, Nuria Rodríguez, emphasized that they lived “moments of great uncertainty because the Rambla arrived with a lot of water” from the areas above Balanegra and Campo de Dalías.
