This Sunday, a wild boar surprised the residents of the Entrevías neighborhood, in the Puente de Vallecas district of Madrid. The wild animal roamed the streets of the neighborhood for several minutes, until several residents alerted the police.
The first group of municipal agents to arrive did not succeed in catching the mammal weighing around a hundred kilos, which managed to escape by throwing itself on them (by climbing on the hood of a car) then running full speed.
The police deployment had to be reinforced and, as shown in a second video shared on social networks, 15 agents (joined by the National Police) surrounded the wild boar to chase it into La Mancha street. He was given sedative darts, but these had no effect.
He even reached the El Pozo Cercanías station, crossing the railroad tracks, and as he headed towards the M-40, the agents managed to divert him to an open field and shoot him there with traditional ammunition. In total, the chase lasted more than two hours.
Police sources say that one of the officers even suffered a bite from the animal, so he had to go to the emergency services to assess the injury and receive the rabies vaccine.
