The private prosecution of the 17-year-old girl maintains that the relationships were not consensual while the prosecution does not accuse, knowing that they were.
The third section of Provincial Court of Córdoba took place this week the first session of a trial which continues next Monday against a coach of a women’s football team sitting on the bench accused of the crime of sexual assault on one of his 17-year-old players.
The case was judged despite the fact that the Córdoba prosecutor’s office does not consider it a crime when it understands that the the relationships were consensual while the private prosecution requires heavy prison sentences – nine years – for one crime of sexual assaultas reported by judicial sources.
The trial began last Thursday with the statement of the accused but was postponed to a second day this Monday during which the parties will present their reportsand whether or not they bring their provisional conclusions in this matter to finality.
The defense, for its part, requested the free acquittal of the accused, knowing that the relations were consensual and that they had conversations during WhatsApp that in their opinion they demonstrate it and that the young player who was then 17 years old could already freely give her consent or not maintain these relationships – the legal limit is 16 years old.
