Rustam, born in 1997 in the Nizami district of Baku, tried to kill Ilaha (names withheld, ed.), whom he met on a social network.
According to Demokrat.az, at the end of June 2021, Rustam agreed to have sexual relations with Ilaha, born in 1988, whom he met through the social network Telegram, in exchange for money.
On July 16 of that year, around five in the afternoon, Rustam arrived at the apartment on M. Abbasov Street, Nizami District, where Ilaha was renting. He had sexual relations with the Goddess once on the bed in the bedroom of the apartment.
Later, he demanded that the Goddess perform disgusting sexual acts. The goddess complied with his demands and had sexual relations with him immorally.
After that, Ilaha refused to have an intimate relationship in this way again and asked Rustam to leave her house. Using this as an excuse, Rustam hit different parts of her body with a knife that he took from the kitchen of the apartment at 5:40 pm that day to kill Ilaha.
Later, Rustam wrapped the apartment blanket around Ilaha’s neck and tried to squeeze her neck to suffocate her. However, Ilaha actively resisted, avoided him while he was injured and went to the residential building block and asked neighbors for help. When neighbors arrived at the scene, Rustam jumped out of the apartment window and fled the scene. The goddess was rushed to the hospital in time with the help of the emergency medical team called by the neighbors. His life was saved by providing him with qualified medical assistance.
The investigative body announced an indictment against Rustam under article 29.120.2.2 of the Criminal Code (attempt to commit murder with hooliganism).
Rustam, who testified as a defendant in the criminal case, pleaded guilty to the charges announced against him. He said that at the beginning of June 2021 he met Ilaha in the “Amoral” group of the social network application program “Telegram”: “Around June 7 and 8, I met Ilaha twice in the park located in the district from Narimanov. During the meeting, I gave her 1600 manats in total. I also gave money to Ilaha to help her at that time and she asked me to send the money to her account. I transferred the money to that account on the 16th. June 17.”
The accused claimed that he did not see Ilaha again after that: “However, I spoke on the social network Telegram. We spoke regularly, after that I liked it. When I spoke in the general group, Ilaha wrote to have sex for money in the amount of 150-200 manats, but I did not say a word about it when the incident occurred, that is, on July 16, around 12 o’clock, I started drinking 3 0.5 liter bottles of alcoholic energy drink from the market of the town where I live When I spoke on the social network application “Telegram”, I said I wanted to go to Ilaha’s house. She sent me the location of her house on the social network “WhatsApp”, saying so I could come. “I headed to the area, which was two blocks from the building where the Goddess had sent me. The goddess told me that she has someone with her and that she will call her in an hour.”
According to Rustam’s statement, when he called Ilaha again about an hour later, he explained the address of his place of residence: “I bought two 0.5 liter bottles of Baltika 9 beer at the “Rahat” market, at exit from the “Gara Garayev” metro station. I went to the address where Ilaha lived. Then I arrived at Ilaha’s house and started kissing. Then Ilaha started drinking “Baltika 9” beer. bedroom of the house. We had sex on the bed there. After finishing intercourse, the Goddess went to the bathroom first.
Rustam noted that he then washed himself in the bathroom, and after a while they returned to the bedroom and began to have sex naturally: “After 8 to 10 minutes, I couldn’t finish the sexual act. Rustam said that despite the impact of the blow, Ilaha fell backwards in the hallway of the apartment: “I threw the knife that I had in my hand into the hallway. When Ilaha wanted to scream, I went to the bathroom, put the scarf on her head and took the knife from her. I had no intention of killing Ilaha when I hit her, she ran towards the block. and shouted for help. Rustam said that he later went to Lankaran in an unfamiliar taxi: “I arrived in Lankaran that day around 9:00 p.m. There I met my cousin Jamal and told him that I had fallen in Baku and sprained my leg. I asked her to take me to the doctor, Jamal, whose name I don’t remember. I told the woman I had fallen. She put an egg yolk bandage on my leg and said I had a bruise. I went to a private house in the village of Lankaran district where my uncle Elchi lives, but I did not inform him of the incident and told him that I would go to Baku.
Rustam said that on July 17, around 4 pm, he arrived in Baku and went to the beach in the Nardaran settlement. On the 19th I went to my father’s house and told him about the crime I had committed at that time, my father said. “I’ll take you to the police department.” My father called his friend and took me to the 25th police department of Nizami district, which was taken away and handed over to me.
According to Ilaha, who testified as a victim in the case, she started a family with Yusif, and a daughter named Zemina was born from that marriage: “I divorced Yusif in 2017. During sex, Rustam kissed my private parts. After that, I disliked having sex with Rustam. Therefore, I did not want to have sex with Rustam again and expressed my displeasure to him. According to Ilaha, he then went to the bathroom and took a bath: “When I came out of the bathroom after washing, I saw Rustam naked in front of me. I asked Rustam why he was not dressed. Rustam offered me to have sex again, however, when Not accepting Rustam’s offer, he asked me to leave my house immediately. At that moment, we were both naked. Suddenly he hugged me and I fell back, the knife fell from Rustam’s hand. I took the knife in my hand. I tried to run towards the door, Rustam took the pink scarf and tried to strangle me. When I was on the ground, I asked Rustam not to kill me, but Rustam ignored my words and continued with his actions. At that moment I screamed for Rustam. He let me go, opened the door and went up to the fifth floor asking for help. The neighbors helped me and called the emergency services. After about 10 minutes, the medical team from the emergency post arrived and took me to clinical hospital number 3. the city. My life was saved after a surgical operation in the hospital.
This criminal case was heard in the Baku Serious Crimes Court. According to the court’s verdict, Rustam’s act is described in article 29.120.1 (attempted murder) of the Penal Code. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison. It has been determined that he will serve his sentence in a strict regime penitentiary center.
Dissatisfied with the verdict, the prosecutor filed an appeal. The state prosecutor requested that Rustam be found guilty under article 29.120.2.2 of the Penal Code and sentenced to 15 years in prison.
