An appeal has been filed against the sentence handed down against Eltaj Chalabiyev, accused of the murder of an acquaintance in Samukh.
Pravda.az reports that the preliminary hearing to be held at the Baku Court of Appeal is scheduled for November 5.
The complaint will be investigated under the presidency of Judge Mushfiq Mammadov.
Eltaj Chalabiyev was sentenced to 17 years in prison by the verdict of the Ganja Serious Crimes Court.
It should be noted that Eltaj Khuday oghlu Chalabiyev, born in 2001, is accused of killing Muraz Rahim oghlu Ibrahimov, born in 1986, over personal relationships in the village of Burungovag, Samukh district. He was charged under article 120.2.4 of the Penal Code.
According to the prosecution, Eltaj Chalabiyev drank alcohol at the wedding party he attended in the village on the day of the incident. While standing in front of the cave, he saw his companion Muraz Ibrahimov leaving the wedding party with his wife. The accused then followed them and threatened them with a knife that he was carrying down the street 60 meters from the cave and cursed them. As a result, Eltaj stabbed him to death in front of his wife.
