Ábalos accuses Marlaska of revealing his personal data, which the prosecution is asking to be investigated

Former Minister José Luis Ábalos accuses the Interior — “by commission or omission” — that your personal data, included in the summary of the Koldo casewere leaked to the press and published.

At the end of last July, Ábalos recounted these events in a letter sent to the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE), which was referred to the provincial prosecutor’s office in Madrid.

As EL ESPAÑOL published this Thursday, the latter filed a complaint in the capital’s courts to investigate this alleged “revelation of secrets.”

In his writings, Ábalos complained that throughout the investigation of the Koldo casethey spread, with systematic precision“data relating to your private life, such as travel or hotel stays and “knowledge of which is obviously only possible thanks to information collected in administrative and police files”.

The complaint filed by the Madrid Provincial Prosecutor’s Office has finally been brought before the capital’s investigating court number 33, which must decide whether to open proceedings and start an investigation.

The Central Operational Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard is in charge of investigating the call Koldo casewhich deals with the hypothesis collection of illegal commissions through several public contracts for the supply of masks signed at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic. The case takes its name from Koldo García Izaguirre, an advisor to Ábalos when he was Minister of Transport.

In his letter to the FGE, the former PSOE organisation secretary also stressed that he was not being investigated by the Koldo case -for the moment, this is still not the case- and that, despite this, there has been a “systematic publication of the information contained in the judicial process” about him. It is for this reason that he asked the public prosecutor to investigate the “origin and channel” of the leaks.

Ábalos claimed that he had been “deprived of his rights to privacy and honor” due to publications in the press about the contents of the summary. He also denounced their subsequent political use and called the situation a “media circus.”

In addition to the interior for their “negligence” or “commission of a crime”Ábalos indicated that the people who must keep the private data contained in the case summary are “Public officials” of the Ministry of Justice led by Félix Bolaños“the investigation unit”, the UCO and “the corresponding court”. The person responsible for investigating Koldo case This is the Central Court of Instruction number 2 of the National Court, headed by Judge Ismael Moreno.

The former minister thus expressed his complaint regarding the leak of his private data, as well as the content of his emails to the press, as they were included, without any filter, in the summary of the legal file.
