Abkhazia pays its state employees from its budget for the fourth month

For the fourth month, the government of Abkhazia has been replacing financial aid from Russia to pay the salaries of public sector employees. About this performance Prime Minister Valery Bganba was informed by the head of the Ministry of Finance of Abkhazia, Vladimir Delba, at a meeting held on November 22.

The volume of these expenses amounted to 398 million rubles.

Since September 1, Russia partially suspended financing of the socio-economic assistance program to the republic due to Sukhum’s failure to meet its obligations to Moscow. The reduction affected the salaries of teachers and doctors. In addition, Abkhazia has to pay for the supply of electricity from Russia at commercial prices.

As announced by the Minister of Energy and Transport, Jansukh Nanba, at today’s meeting, the supply of electricity from Russia is paid until November 29.
