The traffic accident recorded by surveillance cameras took place yesterday afternoon at the intersection of Abbas Mirza Sharifzade and Asad Ahmadov streets in the Yasamal district.
Oku.Az reports that the Ministry of the Interior’s Centre for Intelligent Transport Management has published information on this matter.
During the accident, 1 pedestrian traffic light was rendered unusable.
“The fact that some drivers do not respect the speed limit while driving, passing the red light, causes traffic accidents that lead to the failure of this device and its control box. Since the beginning of this year, more than 20 traffic lights have been put out of service as a result of car accidents. Employees of the MIA Intelligent Transportation Management Center have worked to replace these traffic lights with new ones in a short period of time.
“We therefore inform once again that drivers must strictly observe the speed limit and traffic light requirements, especially when entering intersections,” the statement said.
