A vehicle carrying fuel has reportedly collided with another vehicle carrying passengers in Niger State. A fire broke out as a result.
According to Abdullahi Baba-Arab, director general of Niger’s State Emergency Management Agency, the bodies of 48 people who were left unrecognizable as a result of the fire were buried that day according to Muslim customs.
The total number of dead and injured has not yet been determined. Search and rescue operations are currently underway at the scene.
